Louis C. Vogt
Born and raised in Cincinnati, he studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy under Duveneck and later was a student in New York, likely with Harry Siddons Mowbray. From both teachers, he learned hard edged realism. He maintained a studio in Cincinnati. He also spent time traveling about the United States as an illustrator for Harper’s and Century Magazines. He died in Palo Alto California in 1939. Vogt was an active member in the Cincinnati Art Club.
